Kirklees Safeguarding Children Board Business Plan
Business Plan 2007 - 2010
The Safeguarding Children Board Business Plan covers the period 2007 to 2010 and sets out six key objectives:
-
To strengthen and develop the partnership approach to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
- To minimise the incidence of child abuse and neglect
- To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of what is done by the Local Authority and Safeguarding Board partners
- To communicate the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
- To review and investigate all child deaths
- To develop the skills and knowledge of workers in relation to safeguarding children
The key actions to be undertaken are derived from sources such as Working Together to Safeguard Children 2006, guidance from the Government Department for Children, Families and Schools, Kirklees Council Children & Young People Plan, and Kirklees Council Annual Performance Assessment.
Supporting the Board to meet its aims and objectives are several Workstreams each of which take the lead for the different issues set out in the Business Plan. Terms of reference for each of the Workstreams can be found in the Constitution.
